Interview with evyallen :iconevyallen:

Thank you for taking your time with the interview for AllArtSupport.

AllArtSupport :bulletblack: Hello evyallen, please tell us a little bit about yourself. How did you discover your passion for Traditional Art?

evyallen :bulletred: Hi! My name is Eva but everyone calls me Sonja , I'm 18 years old and I live in Germany. I just finished school. I apparently love to draw and love listening to music and to go outside. I'm famous for drawing on other people's faces and to do their eyebrows. I love to do my nails and my friends nails. That's my second passion :D I like to travel a lot to explore the world, I already have been to approx. more than 12 countries.
I discovered my passion for Traditional Art when I was a little girl, maybe when I was 4 or 5 years old. I loved Sailor Moon so much and tried to draw Usagi all the time. I continued drawing in Manga style until I discovered art of Victoria Frances. I really didn't and still don't like her gothic style but I loved how her drawings looked so realistic. Then I tried to draw manga realistically and failed so bad that I stopped drawing for some time T.T
When I discovered deviantART I had an urge to start to intensify my hobby. I started to draw portraits and somehow I ended up drawing like I like to draw now.

AllArtSupport :bulletblack: Which are the reasons you have made an account in deviantART? What do you expect from it?

evyallen :bulletred: I found deviantART while searching for drawing tutorials. I stopped by and I was more than impressed by the artworks I found on this site.
I had so many drawings on my desk and I thought, why not make an account and upload some of my pictures.
I expect to improve my skills. On this website I can find so many inspirational styles and drawings. Additionally I get feedback from people who don't know me and don't HAVE to give me good feedback. That's what I really like on deviantART.

AllArtSupport :bulletblack: Could you name some of your favorite artists? (Painters, musicians, writers, etc.)

evyallen :bulletred: I'll start with painters. I absolutely love Gustav Klimt, he's like a role model for me . I really like street-art-painters just like Monsieur Qui or Jeff Aerosol. I adore how Kime Buzzelli ( who actually is a designer) uses colors in her paintings/sketches . In general I love Art Nouveau. I don't know why but it's somehow very appealing to me.
I love every kind of music but actually it depends on my mood. I'm listening especially to rap/hip-hop. I love Eminem and Lupe Fiasco very , very much. They're my favorites.
My favorite writer is Stephen King. Corny lives and perfect protagonists are boring.

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Your main subjects are women and flowers. Please tell us about those muses, what makes you so passionate about them?

evyallen :bulletred: I tried to figure out this question by myself some time ago but I didn't find an accurate answer WHY I use women and flowers. I want to depict questions on my drawings, which is strange somehow.
Why do women care so much about their appearance?/ Beauty = Happiness?
Furthermore I want to connect beauty with nature. The first thing which comes to my mind when I think about nature is flowers. Roses are my favorite flowers, they’re just wonderful and they smell so sweet. ;)

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Your pieces have a unique color palette that makes your artworks look vintage, how do you choose your colors when you work? What influences you?

evyallen :bulletred: The usage of colors is really, really important. My drawings have to be filled with a lot of colors. Actually I don't even like if you can see a lot of white paper-space. Instead of white I use yellow/beige, I thinks that's why my artwork looks so vintage sometimes.
You may have recognized that I use rose-tones nearly all the time. That's because of the fact that I love flowers very much and accordingly love to use natural colors such as apricot and pink.
I don't really have something that influences me when I choose my usage of colors.
The main point is that I'm able to fill the whole working layer with colors, especially with pinkish colors, maybe even to emphasize the feminine.

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Did your art ever helped you in dealing with the other aspects of your life?

evyallen :bulletred: It didn't really helped me dealing with other aspects... my art is rather something like an escape. I keep it like Pablo Picasso: 'The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls'

:bigthumb368475897:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  When you see the artworks in your gallery, what do you feel has been your greatest achievement so far?

evyallen :bulletred: hmm... I'm not sure if I can call anyone of my pieces a great achievement ;)
By now I would say that 'Allure' has been the greatest. It was featured several times and I was really really happy about it :)

:bigthumb364677803:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  What other art medias would you like to explore in the future?

evyallen :bulletred: I really would love to draw with watercolors or acryl on canvas. I tried so many times to do it but I failed.... I never get the chance to correct my mistakes :'O
I think I'm only confident drawing with my beloved pencil.

:bigthumb355214112:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  What has been the most useful lesson you learnt in your whole artistic life?

evyallen :bulletred: My most useful lesson I learned is that talent is not the only thing you need to have to start drawing. You don't need talent at all... no one is talented in the beginning in my opinion.
exercise! exercise/drawing is the only thing you have to do. Oh my god, my old drawings, which I drew 5 years ago, totally look like the ones I drew 10 years ago. So, people who want to draw, start drawing now and set a goal how you want to draw in one year! ;)

:bigthumb373539308:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Out of all your beautiful work, which piece is your favorite, and why?

evyallen :bulletred: My favorite piece is 'Madness'. This picture contains everything I love to draw.
I somehow like the face very much, maybe because of the eyes and the make-up.
I used the whole space and used the best textures I could find
It was a great fun to draw this piece and that's, in my opinion, the most important thing to have while you're drawing!

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Please tell us a little about your current projects.

evyallen :bulletred: Currently I have absolutely no time. Like I said, I just finished school and started doing a part-time job. I will have my prom and etc. and to add, my inspiration somehow disappeared ;(
but maybe: for so long I wanted to draw something with butterflies. I'm definitely going to draw something like 'Madly'

:bigthumb348373544:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Your quote?

evyallen :bulletred: 'The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'
Referring to all aspects of life.

:bigthumb340703614:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  If you could give a useful piece of advice to someone who is considering diving into the world of Traditional Art, what would it be?

evyallen :bulletred: Maybe to start drawing portraits, to learn everything you need to learn: drawing linearts, how to do shadings and to use colors the right way.
I would definitely recommend you to stay individual, to stay in other peoples mind, and just to draw what you like the most yourself

:bigthumb358885763:

AllArtSupport :bulletblack:  Any last words of wisdom you would like to share with us today?

evyallen :bulletred: Yaay!! Don't let them say you ain't beautiful, they can all get fcked just stay true to you ~ Eminem
P.S.: Don't compare yourself to others; it will just make you sick.
I think that's it! Thank you so much for the Interview Request. I'm so happy to share some information with you guys <3
